I picked up notes of dark, toasted bread, hay, lemon, and raspberry. There’s some sweetness, but it’s fairly mild. Did it remind me of unsweetened tea? Not strongly, but after sitting back and relaxing, the flavors combined to create something similar to an unsweetened Lipton tea with lemon. Though the tobacco itself was a bit dry, it smoked surprisingly well straight from the jar. It did have a slightly harsh edge, but I believe rehydrating it a bit could solve that. It tends to burn hot, but as long as you pace yourself, it shouldn’t be an issue. While it’s not as spot-on as something like Oxford Blend, I’d say this is a very interesting Virginia-based blend. If I can get it to smoke just right, it may become a regular in my rotation.
