Upon opening the tin, I was greeted by a subtle sweetness with malty and bready aromas. The moisture level was decent but still benefited from a bit of drying time. The Virginias range from mahogany to medium brown in color. The flake has a natural sweetness, and as I reached the middle of the bowl, a spiciness—mostly noticeable in the retrohale—reminded me of Perique. I believe this flake will age beautifully, and I recommend getting two tins: one to enjoy now and one to let rest for the future.
