Barreda Don Chico Maduro Toro

The Barreda Don Chico Maduro Toro has a dark, oily Mexican San Andrés maduro wrapper paired with an Indonesian binder and Nicaraguan fillers in a 6 x 54 toro, creating a longer medium to full bodied smoke packed with rich coffee, cocoa, caramel sweetness and firm peppery spice that stays balanced throughout. Blended by Oscar Barreda as a tribute to his grandfather Francisco “Don Chico” Barreda, this toro extends the acclaimed Don Chico Maduro profile into a slow burning format, handmade in Estelí with carefully selected tobaccos that showcase the depth of Nicaraguan leaf under a classic San Andrés wrapper. The toro’s 6 x 52 dimensions provide extra smoking time and cool, voluminous smoke, allowing the blend to open gradually while the sturdy construction, firm pack and clean cap support an even burn and consistent draw.

Flavour wise, the Don Chico Maduro Toro echoes its robusto sibling with an opening hit of peppery spice, especially on retrohale, quickly joined by caramel sweetness, dark chocolate, espresso and earthy tones. As the cigar progresses, notes of cedar, leather, toasted caramel, nuts and a slight mint nuance appear, adding complexity while the strength remains in the medium to full range and the texture stays creamy rather than abrasive. This makes Barreda Don Chico Maduro Toro a compelling choice for smokers who enjoy rich, dessert like maduro profiles and want that character in a longer, unhurried format ideal for evenings or pairing with aged rum or whisky.
